The Transition Support Unit forms an essential element of A Share in the Future – Indigenous Education Strategy 2015-24 developed by the Northern Territory Department of Education.

The Unit has commenced initial operations to establish a comprehensive transition to secondary school service. It aims to ensure Indigenous students from remote communities are supported as they relocate to access secondary schooling options. Staff will be based in Alice Springs, Tennant Creek, Katherine, Nhulunbuy and Darwin.

If you provide boarding services to Indigenous students from the NT, you are encouraged to contact Ms Gaynor Manning, Senior Manager Boarding School relationships at [email protected]

Gaynor is keen to connect with boarding schools and residences around Australia that currently service Indigenous NT students or have an interest in doing so. For Gaynor’s contact details and for more information, see the Department’s Transition Support Unit information page.
